I'm Jasmine Abbey Bell, a strategist, coach, and CEO of the JAB Consulting Agency. With over 10 years of experience in education. I have served as an Instructional Coach, Professional Development Coordinator, and Coaching Supervisor. My mission is to new and vetran instructional coaches in secondary settings receive training and ongoing support.

• What type of professional learning opportunities do you offer?
  

Currently, in-person and virtual training opportunities are provided to schools with coaches working primarily with ELA teachers (i.e. Instructional Coaches, Lead Teachers, or Department Heads). Coaches work directly with teachers and can help teachers work toward school initiatives. We offer stand-alone PD, PD series, and follow-up coaching. It is recommended each training is followed up with coaching to see improvements. We also offer training to Instructional Coaches who work primarily working in the middle schools located in rural areas.

• How does your business differ from that of other educational coaches?
  

I use a challenge-based coaching model to collaborate with schools and teachers to address the challenges they are most passionate about solving. As a coach, my goal is to collaborate and give assistance to middle school ELA teachers and school leaders so that when the contract has ended, change can be sustained without me. In addition, to focusing on challenges, I use a student-centered approach so the focus shifts from "fixing" teachers to improving outcomes for students.

• What is the difference between in-person and virtual services?
  

The Covid-19 pandemic showed how advanced technology is and how we can continue to provide services without risking our health. The major difference between the two is the location or method for the meeting. Effective professional learning and coaching can still occur in the virtual setting.

• Do you only work with Coaches in Middle School or ELA Coaches?
  

While my primary focus and mission is to help ELA Instructional Coaches in Middle Schools, I offer services to Coaches who work with high school ELA educators or coaches in rural schools. Currently, I do not offer services for Literacy Coaches or those who work with elementary teachers.

• What does a strategist do? How can you help me and my organization?
  

As a strategist, I will collect data (either through observation or surveys) to identify potential areas of growth. Together, we will discuss how those areas of growth impact your day-to-day operations. And I will develop a plan of action to help you make sustainable changes. In educational settings, this could look like Action Planning to provide coaching and professional learning for you and your staff. Or this could look like reviewing data from teachers to help coaches improve their practices.

• How have you used your education to help others?
  

As a former classroom teacher and instructional coach, I have leveraged my knowledge and experience to bring change at the state level. As a former professional development coordinator for secondary ELA, I have trained hundreds of teachers and districts on evidence-based practices. As a supervisor of coaches, I have used my experience and knowledge of the coaching cycle to help coaches and educators improve practices to see sustainable change. These skills can help middle school teachers and leaders.

For Virtual Coaching:

If cancellation is necessary, we require that you notify us by phone call or email at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made on the day of the service will be charged a fee that will be equal to 50% of the reserved services.

If you are more than 10 minutes late for your session, we may not be able to accommodate you. We will do our very best to reschedule your service for another time that is convenient for you. If you are more than 30 minutes late for your session, the same cancellation fee will apply. We require a credit card to hold your appointment. Cancellation fees will be charged to your card on file.
